Proof of Humanity for Security

Emerging implications of Proof of Humanity for Security in DeFi and Beyond

The rise of Zero Knowledge proof and Proof of Humanity protocols like Rarimo presents an interesting crux point for our decentralized ecosystem. It is now possible to guarantee and verify that the counterparty for any interaction whether on or off chain is a real human, which dramatically reduces the probability of automated or low trust/completely untested contract deployers.

How can this be executed on-chain?

The fact that there exists a way for a human being with a track record of real world interactions (e.g. gitcoin bounties, linkedin profile data, etc), to prove that they are a respected counter party, without deanonymizing themselves at the wallet level, means that we can infer a deployer wallet for any smart contract is a high trust individual.

Fidesium computed risk score with Rarimo PoH

We are super excited about the implications this has for Fidesium’s mission to keep people safe when interacting with blockchain assets and contracts. We can now guarantee that they are not interacting with low trust individuals without knowing this. While the anonymous nature of the zkProofs means we can not necessarily guarantee the reputational implications for the counterparty, the fact they have demonstrated a willingness to go through proof of humanity and correlate their data on-chain, does provide an insight into their intentions.

We look forward to expanding this data feed and keeping us all safe.#DegenResponsibly
